Massage FAQs

Do your massages hurt?

Our goal is always comfort.
We adjust the pressure exactly to your preference — light, medium, or deep.
If you prefer gentle, we stay gentle. If you enjoy deeper work, we go slowly and safely.

During your session, you can ask for more or less pressure at any time.

Pain-relief work may include deeper techniques, but it should never feel sharp or unbearable.
We focus on releasing tension, not creating discomfort.

I’m embarrassed… what if I accidentally pass gas during the massage?

It happens to everyone — and it’s completely normal.

Massage and acupressure help relax your muscles and digestive system, so this is a common and natural response.
We don’t comment, and you don’t need to feel embarrassed at all.

Your comfort is our priority.

Are you a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)?

No, we are not RMT.
We specialize in pain-relief massage and acupressure, focusing on:

- Knot release

- Deep tension relief

- Improved circulation

- Stress and fatigue reduction

Our sessions are ideal for clients looking for results, relaxation, and improved mobility, without the clinical requirements of RMT treatment.

Do you provide insurance receipts?

Yes — we can provide regular massage receipts, but not RMT receipts, on request.

Some insurance plans may reimburse regular massage, while others may require RMT.

We’re not Registered Massage Therapists (RMT), so most extended health plans won’t cover our sessions.

However, we do provide NHPC receipts, and some insurance providers may reimburse those — it’s best to confirm with your insurance company.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session is simple, comfortable, and fully guided.

You can expect:

- A short intake conversation about your tension areas and preferences

- Clear explanation of what we will focus on

- Privacy and proper draping at all times

- Pressure adjusted to your comfort

- A calm, quiet environment

- Aftercare suggestions tailored to your body

You’re welcome to speak up anytime if you want adjustments.

What is the difference between relaxation massage and pain-relief massage?

Relaxation massage focuses on calming the mind and soothing the body.
Pain-relief massage focuses on:

- Releasing muscle knots

- Loosening stiff areas

- Improving mobility

- Reducing chronic tension

We combine deep-tissue pressure, stretching, and acupressure to create longer-lasting relief than a simple relaxation session.

If you’ve tried regular massage before and still feel tight the next day, our pain-relief approach may be a better fit.

How long should I book for my session?

Here are our general recommendations:

For ongoing neck/shoulder/back tension: 60–90 minutes

For first-time clients: minimum 60 minutes

For severe stiffness or long-term tightness: 90–120 minutes

For focused Head & Neck: 30 minutes

If you’re unsure, we can help recommend the best duration based on your goals.

How often should I come for a massage?

It depends on your body and your goals.

Pain or severe stiffness: once a week for 2–4 weeks

Maintaining improvement: every 2–3 weeks

General wellness / stress relief: once a month

Many clients find the most significant benefit in treating tension before it builds up again.

Your privacy and comfort are always protected.
